 HELP - Durban Botanic Gardens Trail of Lights 2023

1. Tickets booked may be rescheduled via the Webtickets portal up to 7 days before the performance. No reschedules within 7 days of performance. 2. Tickets must be rescheduled to the same time slot only. 3. No refunds allowed. No refunds are applicable for no-shows or due to adverse weather. 4. Refunds are only allowed for officially cancelled nights.

 

The 2023 Durban Botanic Gardens Trail of Lights takes place on the following dates: 08 - 10 December 2023, 13 - 24 December 2023, 26 - 30 December 2023 and 01 - 03 January 2024. Event runs nightly from 18h00 - 22h00.
Children aged 2 and under enter for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult.
Your purchased time slot ticket is the earliest time you can enter the Durban Botanic Gardens Trail of Lights venue. This is done to ensure that each guest has a magical experience and to avoid overcrowding when entering. Once you have entered the Trail of Lights, you can stay for as long as you would like until the event closes at 10.00 pm. Although you are not able to enter Durban Botanic Gardens Trail of Lights before your allocated time slot, if you are running a little bit behind, you will still be able to enter once your arrival window has passed. However, we kindly ask that you try to arrive as close as possible to your chosen time-slot time.

If there is severe, adverse weather (torrential) and the event is OFFICIALLY CANCELLED on that specific night, all ticket holders will be notified via SMS as well as an announcement made on social media. Tickets purchased may then be refunded or rescheduled within 48 hours for use on any remaining event night via the Webtickets booking system subject to availability. This only applies to event nights that have been OFFICIALLY cancelled by the event organising team. No refunds for no-shows.
Yes, dedicated parking is available at the uMphafa field as well as at the Visitors Complex entrance. There is an R30 surcharge applicable for parking. Please note that parking is limited and fills quickly. If you park in the surrounding neighbourhood on a side street, please be respectful of our neighbours and park legally. Durban Botanic Gardens will not be held liable for any parking tickets received or incidents that occur.
The Durban Botanic Gardens Trail of Lights is an outdoor event, so we suggest wearing comfortable shoes with good traction. Please come prepared for outdoor weather conditions. Umbrellas are allowed.
Yes, the trail and surrounding event areas are 100% wheelchair and pram accessible.
Unfortunately, pets are not permitted on most nights however for 2023, we have introduced our Paws and Claus nights exclusive to the 10th, 13th, and 14th December 2023. On this night, you may purchase a ticket for your furry friend with proceeds donated to Feeding the Furballs NPO. Pet tickets are R50. Service dogs will be permitted entry on all nights, kindly carry relevant documentation for security purposes.
No weapons, firearms, food, drinks, animals, ammunition, illegal substances, glow merchandise, bicycles, balls, balloons, glass or gazebos will be permitted into the venue. Please note that the venue does not have a holding facility. Kindly use the nearest police station.
