Join us in celebrating 30 years of Democracy as Bongani Sotshononda takes you on a captivating musical journey, from its inception to the present day. This special production, presented during Africa Month, is led and composed by the internationally acclaimed percussionist, chromatic marimba, vibraphonist, multi-instrumentalist, educator, and versatile musician, Bongani Sotshononda. Alongside a 9-piece orchestral ensemble featuring a diverse group of internationally recognized South African musicians, we bring you an electrifying performance that showcases the evolution of music over the past two decades and into the 21st century.


Exodus Music, arranged by Lonwabo Diba Mafani, will be enriched by an eclectic blend of indigenous instruments, Western and classical instruments, and a vocal ensemble. Our ensemble includes Bongani Sotshononda on chromatic marimba and vocals, Lonwabo Diba Mafani on piano and vocals, Janna Khweis on violin, Ruby Truter on vocals, Seul Pearl Jung on cello, Lerato Skhosana on acoustic guitars, Stephen De Souza on double bass, Keketso Bolofo on percussion, and Kurt Bowers on drums.
