The UCT IBuyambo ensemble presents Fragments of Sarah, an interdisciplinary performance concert that reimagines the life and legacy of Sarah Baartman through sound, movement, memory, and embodied storytelling.
Where written history leaves gaps in Sarah’s own voice, Fragments of Sarah enters those silences. Through music, movement, and poetic expression, the production gives form to an inner voice that history did not preserve, inviting audiences to encounter Sarah not simply as a historical subject but as a woman with memory, dignity, longing, and agency.
