The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) and the Botanical Society of South Africa present the inaugural SA Tree Symposium (SATS) at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. Launching during Arbor Month, SATS is a collaborative platform designed to tackle South Africa’s urgent environmental pressures, including rapid urbanization, climate change, biodiversity loss, and land degradation.
By bringing together policymakers, researchers, arborists, youth leaders, and civil society, SATS fosters cross-disciplinary innovation. Together, we will highlight the critical role trees play in supporting ecological balance and resilient landscapes.
