The Javett-UP is a partnership between the University of Pretoria (UP) and the Javett Foundation. Both share a firm belief in the emancipatory potential of the arts in society through multidisciplinary curatorial and pedagogic initiatives. With one foot firmly rooted in academia, and the other embedded in the public, Javett-UP critically responds to histories of Africa’s creative outputs and future aspirations of the continent and the diaspora.
Operating Hours
-10am - 5pm | Tuesday to Saturday, Last admission at 4pm
-Closed on Sundays except for the last Sunday of each month
-There is free entrance to Javett-UP on all South African Public Holidays
Access & Parking
Please note that the Javett-UP main entrance is closed until further notice due to roadworks on Lynnwood Road. Access is via the University of Pretoria (UP) South Campus entrance on University Road. Parking is limited and must be booked in advance by purchasing a parking ticket for your selected time slot.
