THE ROUTES OF SOUND at Spier

A bite-sized music festival-series of intimate performances by a diverse range of outstanding local musicians – some well-known, and others ‘under the radar’ – in cosy, intimate settings. Three winter weekends, featuring a total of over 30 musicians. Each weekend has a completely different line-up (see details below).

Audiences will embark on a journey of sonic exploration as they sample three diverse musical acts, each paired with one of Spier’s award-winning Creative Block wines, in some of Spier’s most atmospheric spaces. The evening culminates in a rousing concert.

The concept of The Routes of Sound plays on the words routes and roots: the paths to musical discovery you'll follow, and the joy of enjoying music in its most elemental form: unplugged and up-close.

We suggest booking an early meal at VADAS Restaurant or Veld Restaurant at the Spier Hotel to settle in beforehand. Dress warmly and bring comfortable walking shoes for strolling between venues.

21 + 22 August:
Sky Dlala, Deadman’s Dungarees (Hugo Veldsman + Kino), Maya Grey, Xhanti Nokwali, Hayley Jade, and Vuyisani Mkwambi.
