Join the Friends on a visit to the Western Cape Archives and Records Service in the beautiful old goal building, which scholars and members of the public from across the world use.
Archivist Dr Gustav Hendrich will lead this fascinating tour during which he will tell us about the history of the archive and the services it offers, the building, as well as current and future developments at the archive.
We will visit the strong rooms, the map room, preservation section, as well as the finding aids room which is inside the reading room.
After the tour, you are welcome to undertake research in the Reading Room which is open until 16:00.
