About

The question of Palestinian rights and self-determination remains one of the most enduring and complex global issues. Around the world, educational institutions - particularly universities - play a vital role in fostering critical thinking, political awareness, and public dialogue. Increasingly, students and academics are interrogating how these institutions are connected to and implicated in broader political and social systems, including those related to the Palestinian - Israeli context.

We are excited to welcome Francesca Albanese, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, as the keynote speaker, along with an insightful panel of speakers who will further deepen this important conversation.

Liberation & the Academy: The Role of Universities in the Struggle for Palestine will bring together scholars, students, and members of the public to reflect on the evolving role of academia in engaging with justice, human rights, and international solidarity. The dialogue will explore how universities, as both products of and participants in global systems, can act as spaces for reflection, accountability, and meaningful change.
