NB Publishers’ collection of drama texts for high school learners, Om teen treine te skree, was compiled by Tania Viviers. She talks to Margit Meyer-Rödenbeck about the book and the excerpts from the plays that will be performed. Some of the playwrights and actors will participate in a panel discussion about the topics dealt with in the plays and how they are relevant for teachers and learners in the classroom. They will also share their insights on the differences between drama texts and other forms of writing, as well as characterisation and text analysis. Listening to the writers and actors will give learners a different perspective on the prescribed texts.
