About

Queer Africa is live Concert that Celebrates South Africa's post-apartheid Constitution which is the first in the world to outlaw discrimination based on sexual orientation and Celebrating being the fifth country in the world and the first in Africa to legalize same sex marriage. The Mzansi Gay Choir will perform rearranged well known cover songs which was in the top chats during the 1950s and 1960s from across South Africa composed to capture the mood and atmosphere of past and future moments in the life of Simon Nkoli.
The varied program deals with humanity’s desire to know liberation, spiritual joy, belonging to the LGBTQI+ community,be surrounded by natural beauty, but also mourns the damage done by crimes against the LGBTQI+ community. While Pride is more than an event to many LGBTQIA+ people, we typically see Pride Month marked by large and colorful parades, peaceful protests, vigils, memorials, drag performances, poetry readings, donating to LGBTQIA+ organizations, movie screenings, parties and anything else that makes you feel proud to be LGBTQIA+.
