About

The Lutesong Consort presents Gentle and Jaunty Spanish and Italian songs from the 17th century with Lente Louw & Willem Bester (voices), Uwe Grosser (lute, Baroque guitar), Vera Vukovic (chitarrone) and Lilavan Gangen (percussion).

The Lutesong Consort presents a selection of light-hearted and heartfelt songs from the early baroque, arranged for two singers and two historical plucked string instruments.
The addition of sensitive Indian and African percussion creates a unique sound world that feels ancient and modern all at once. Toe-tapping rhythms will be contrasted with lyrical settings of beautiful Renaissance poetry, with its translations projected onto a big screen.
With music by Kapsberger, Caccini, Mudarra, Marìn, Sanz and Frescobaldi.
