With members of the South African National Youth Orchestra, Hlengiwe Mkhwanaz (soprano) and Erik Dippenaar (harpsichord)
As part of an ongoing exploration of repertoire from the Baroque, the South African National Youth Orchestra (SANYO) presents a programme that showcases the expressive qualities of 18th century music, featuring works by Handel, Purcell, De Lalande and Rameau. Soprano Hlengiwe Mkhwanazi join them on stage. Erik Dippenaar, Artistic Director of the Cape Town Baroque Orchestra, conducts the recital from the harpsichord, as the practice would have been in the Baroque. This recital is followed by a music discussion.
