Ayabonga Makanya’s INDUKU

iNduku, is a story told by a Xhosa actor. The actor tells us of challenges as a gay man. He takes us on a journey of self discovery allowing us to reflect back on how we see ourselves and what the world to be, not only as different tribes but mainly as human beings.We walk a journey with the actor as he portrays various characters telling the story of this young boy who transitions into a young man while questioning his journey of becoming. Along the way, we see how he views the world and how the world views him. As the story of identity unfolds from his perspective and those around him, he explores culture, religion and sexuality.
