Two of South Africa’s top classical musicians, soprano Magdalene Minnaar and pianist Esthea Kruger, present a meditative programme of prayers from the greater art song repertoire. This extraordinary collection includes Ravel’s “Kaddisch” and Schubert’s “Ave Maria”, and features works by Bach, Fauré, Messiaen and Britten, amongst others. In the troubling times we are facing in the world, this recital offers a refuge for the soul through the universal language of music. The recital is followed by a free music discussion with the artists upstairs in the Banqueting Hall.
