Some of the top performers from the SACM who successfully auditioned to perform at this festival will play alongside the University of Cape Town Symphony Orchestra (UCTSO) under the baton of Brandon Phillips. The Festival held every year serves as a launching pad for accomplished classical music instrumentalists and singers in performing with a symphony orchestra. The soloists for the evening are: Lily van der Merwe, flute; Sigqibo Tokwe, bassoon; Dané van Graan, piano; Rebekah Hope Beelders, violin; Nica Reinke, mezzo soprano; Trygve Nissen, cello; Solomon Mannel, flute; Loren Ehlers, accordion; and Andrea Salomo, oboe.
The programme features works by Reinecke, Mozart, Vieuxtemps, Rossini, Elgar, Quantz, Martinu and Loren Ehlers.
