For the very first time in Africa, hear the brand-new lineup of NYO Jazz, composed of outstanding young musicians ages 16–19 from across the USA. Led by Artistic Director and trumpeter Sean Jones, with special guest vocalist Alicia Olatuja, NYO Jazz have been described as “astonishing—not just technically, but stylistically” (The Telegraph).

Programme includes a new composition by Sibusiso Mash Mashiloane (SA) and big band classics by Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk and Mary Lou Williams, as well as new arrangements.

Featuring Afrika Mkhize – Piano

as well as the Shine Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Natalie Rungan, as opening act.
