The Otter Estates annual Lonehill Fun Run enjoys its 21st anniversary this year. From its humble beginnings of just over 100 people trundling around the Lonehill neighbourhood to a field of more than 1 000, the event has become a highlight on the Lonehill Community Calendar. Otter Estates has been the title sponsor since inception. The Lonehill Residents Association assists with the event’s organisation. John Walland has been on the microphone for the last few years and will be back again this year.
We have always tried to fund the event entirely and then distribute the proceeds/profits of the run to a deserving local charity. This year the proceeds will go towards the upgrade of Lonehill Park kiddie’s playground. We will be starting and finishing at Lonehill Park. Crawford International, Lonehill will be attending on the day. The event already has a professional feel to it with on-line registrations, kilometer markers, watering table, excellent spot prizes and well stocked food vendors. The event is set to take place on the afternoon of the 22 July 2023. Entry is R80 per person (n/c for babies in prams) and the first 150 online entries will receive a branded long sleeve T-shirt.
