Sullied: ‘to damage the purity or integrity of…’ (PG16)
Originally conceived and choreographed by Kristi-Leigh Gresse(Standard Bank Young Artist of the Year for Dance 2021), directed by Matjamela Motloung. Sullied the internationally awar- winning production (Standard Bank Gold Ovation 2018, South East Dance Best Production at Brighton Fringe Festival UK 2019) makes its Market Theatre Debut this November. Sullied highlights the concept of purity and impurity of the female body. Using the combined power of dance and spoken word, choreographer and performer Kristi-Leigh Gresse and Director Matjamela Motloung take on religion, body politics, racism, gender, sexuality and rape culture.
