Chosi-Idini Vol 2

Idini is a Xhosa word, meaning a sacrifice. After her fortuitous and inexplicably successful audition on Idols. Chosi committed herself to taking the rest of the year off to hear what God intended for her to do with her new-found fame and undeniable gift of music. Idini is the answer Chosi got from prayer, to be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. Idini Vol 2 is an invitation to her place of worship and vulnerability. Chosi's music dauntingly asks God the questions on our minds, her freedom to do so makes us see God as a loving Father who wants to teach us about life as opposed to the distant religious man, she thought he was growing up.
Like many of us, Chosi was raised Christian and was forced to go to church. Her music gives us a front-row seat to how she navigated the confusion of being in the world, getting saved and finally surrendering to live for God. Suicide & Ancestral worship are some of the themes she touches on. Her raging vocals call you to a higher hope, in the face of despair, she sings with her eyes closed -fully confident in God.
