In celebration of Valentine’s Day and February as the Month of Love, Ubuntu Opera presents an evening of music and song in the glorious open-air setting of the Royal Arts Town Amphitheatre. Soprano Estella Aleknaviciute from Lithuania, and Reuben Mbonambi, a bass from Zululand, perform arias by Mozart, Verdi and Puccini, Spanish, German, and Russian songs by Granados, Schumann, Brahms, and Rachmaninoff, love duets and popular gems from musical theatre. The singers are accompanied at the piano by Juan Burgers, Nederburg Opera Prize, Durban Critics Circle Award and NACMA Award winner, who is also the founder of Ubuntu Opera.
