uHadi Experience

The “uHadi Experience” is a revival of the ancient Xhosa bow musical instrument (uHadi) in collaboration with a reputable classical string ensemble consisting of Sisa Mgauli (Violin), Duane Star (Cello), Siyolise Nyondo (Double Bass), Marcus Motaung (Cello) and Eric Hunt ( Djembe & Voice). This collaboration aims to innovatively preserve the dying legacy of the Xhosa bow music in South Africa. Collaborating with widely-respected Western musical instruments does not only bring about a unique sound but it restores the dignity of Xhosa people and distinctively highlights the special sound of uHadi.
