Mombelli’s latest CD, ‘Stories’ was recorded in Basel, Switzerland with the Zulu singer Mbuso Khoza, Swiss cellist Daniel Pezzotti (past member of groups led by Hermeto Pascoal and Andreas Vollenweider and currently a member of the Zurich Opera Orchestra), the trombonist Adrian Mears (currently Prof. of Music at the Basel Jazz school) and the Berlin/Swiss based German drummer Dejan Terzic (winner of the 2014 German Echo award, Enja records recording artist and past performances with Lionell Louke and Django Bates) who currently teaches music at the Bern Jazz school.
They will be joined by the 2014 Standard Bank Young Artist award-winning pianist Kyle Shepherd.
