About

The magnificent play, directed by award-winning director Albert Maritz and written by one of South Africa's most renowned playwrights, Paul Slabolepszy, delves into the ugly impact of institutionalised racism during apartheid's height, narrating the stories of two working-class white men and a black waiter. The iconic, multi-award-winning South African drama "Saturday Night at the Palace" has a sharp satire that shows the horrifying truths of racism. Vince's soccer team has lately dropped him, and Dougie has kicked him out of the common home. Forsie has been entrusted with notifying Vince, but he is hesitant to do so because Vince is a violent person.
Forsie begs Vince to call him, and they pull over to the roadhouse to use a public phone.
Tensions grow in the roadhouse as Vince unleashes his racist biases on September. The play expertly blends wonderful comedic banter with the frightening realism of the unfolding events. The highly anticipated production, which returns 41 years after its traumatic debut during apartheid in 1982, promises to captivate theatregoers with a unique experience. The cast, which includes great actors, Samson Khumalo, Francois Jacobs, and Charlie Bouguenon, has thrown their hearts and souls into rehearsals in preparation for the ultimate performance of a lifetime.
