Sanskrit

Sanskrit is an ancient Indo-European language from which English and most European and South-Asian languages are derived. When European scholars first encountered Sanskrit they found it a missing key to understanding the development of classical languages such as Latin and Greek. Sanskrit’s influence and impact on the world has been significant as it has the largest body of written material in the world prior to the invention of the printing press. This lecture will take participants on a journey through the magnificence and wonder of Sanskrit.
