About

Congolese film producer Orphee Karaj Irung teams up with Nigerian film director and screenwriter Timmy Otukoya to make an awareness short film on one of Africa’s most pressing issues and the fastest growing business of organized crime, HUMAN TRAFFICKING.

WATUMWA which means BONDAGE in Swahili is a fully educational film that talks about the unforeseen carelessness that leads to human trafficking in most cases in Africa. The project which was birthed by the occurrence of the Libya slave trade in 2017, other real-life happenings and researches, saw filmmakers across Africa volunteering to be part of the voices against human trafficking.
