The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department Choir was established in 2003 as a support structure to render musical items at memorial services of the department and the City of Johannesburg.
The choir has since then been successfully involved in various musical projects and initiatives i.e. Old Mutual National Choir Festival, AKTV, GACMA, SACMA and other community-based projects.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Choir is herein known as “JMPD Choristers” will be hosting a Beneficiary Music Concert at the Soweto Theatre on the 09th July 2017 at 13h00.
The choir consists of 65 members and 90% is community members, 10% is employed in the department (sing against crime initiative).
