The Market Theatre Laboratory and TsaMmu offers a part-time short film writing course. This course offers a comprehensive approach to screenwriting, combining technical expertise with creative storytelling. Part one focuses on mastering screenwriting software, understanding the filmmaking process, and formatting scripts professionally. Part two delves into story design, structure, and pitching, culminating in writing and rewriting your own short film script. By the end, you'll possess the skills to craft a compelling script and effectively communicate your vision to the filmmaking team.
The course begins on 24 January 2026 – 19 April 2026. Attendance in all sessions is required to successfully complete the course. The class takes place once a week, Saturday for 3 hours, 9am to 12pm.
NB: Participants are required to have their own laptop.
Once you have purchased your ticket, please register prior to the start date with the course administrator on one of the following dates: 12 January 2026 – 17 January 2026 between 11h00 – 18h00 at the Market Square Complex.
