This is a play about a group of women who run a unique business - a professional mourning service. Led by the charismatic Pumla, they rehearse their dramatic displays of grief and attend local funerals to wail and faint for pay. As they navigate their lucrative niche, the women balance personal gain with community support, all while revealing their complex personalities and relationships. Through the eyes of Brenda, a new recruit and narrator, the play explores themes of identity, community, and the power of women.
