We invite you to take part in a 6km run in solidarity with people living in rural areas who walk many kilometres to their nearest healthcare facility. Currently, women of Port St. John’s, Eastern Cape must travel 3-4 hours for colposcopy services, and this new colposcopy clinic will bring much-needed healthcare closer to them. Whether you choose to walk or run, your participation will make a direct impact in improving access to healthcare for these communities. Let's work together to bridge the healthcare gap, one step at a time!
This event is a collaborative effort between Rural Support Network, UCT Physiotherapy Student Committee, UCT Internal Medicine Society, Medicine in Motion UCT, Hlumisa and Médecins Sans Frontières with all proceeds going toward the establishment of a colposcopy clinic at Isilimela hospital.
Join us for a 6km solidarity run to raise funds to help start up Isilimela Hospital`s new colposcopy clinic! Walk or run the journey that many in rural areas travel to access healthcare. Your participation will help reduce the 3-4 hour journey residents currently endure for colposcopy services. Every step counts towards better healthcare!
