Songs of Yearning: Vocal Chamber Music by Bridge, Chausson, More, Respighi, Rorem and Ullmann

Audience members are invited to a magical sound world in this concert, where singers perform with several different chamber music formations, showcasing art song in a completely different guise from the standard voice-and-piano combination. The programme features diverse works by Bridge, Chausson, Respighi, Rorem and Ullmann, as well as the premiere of Songs of Yearning, the work commissioned by the festival and composed by Adrian More.

International singers Silke Evers (soprano) and Konstantin Ingenpaß (baritone) will be heard together with some of South Africa’s top chamber musicians, such as
Farida Bacharova, Azra Isaacs, Graham du Plessis, the Juliet String Quartet and Esthea Kruger.
