Symphony Concert

Con Spirito Philharmonic presents a Symphony Concert with Dr. Peter Martens as soloist in Haydn’s D major Cello Concerto. Martens recently performed Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations with the CPO, won the 2011 Classical Music SAMA for his recording of complete Sonatas for Cello and Piano by Beethoven (with Luis Magalhães as pianist), and ‘commendably executed’ (according to Strad Magazine) the complete Bach Cello Suites, now available on CD.

Though the musicians will not snuff their candles at the end of Haydn’s Farewell Symphony, they will most certainly leave the stage, as was the tradition. This, together with excerpts from his Nelson Mass, among others, is a concert not to be missed!
