The Alchemy of Words

The Alchemy of Words, a multi-media production about the life and work of French poet Arthur Rimbaud and South African writer Jan Rabie.

Performed by 3 artists, this performance searches to capture the enigma of Arthur Rimbaud and what it means to be a pioneer.

This immersive experience combines sand animation, puppetry and live music inspired by the diverse imagery from his poems – smoke filled battlefields, lush countryside of the French Ardennes, colorful vowels, grey cityscapes, crimson seas.
