SFW was launched on 8 October 2011. The organisation head hunts up and coming designers.
Designers are mainly from Soweto and surrounding township areas from disadvantage areas with no financial assistance to afford basic requirements such as sewing machines.
Recently SFW is attracting designers around Africa , Nigeria, Tanzania, Botswana, Ghana, Zimbabwe to name a few since 2012 these nations have been taking part.
