MANHATTAN BROTHERS TRIBUTE

MANHATTAN BROTHERS TRIBUTE

About

The long-forgotten kings of South African Jazz and popular music in the 40s and 50s will be honoured in musical tribute.

The trend-setting Manhattan Brothers were the first South African group to make the US Billboard charts, and paved the way for the likes of Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela. The group, consisting of four male vocalists - founding member and lead singer, Nathan "Dambuza" Mdledle, Joe Mogotsi, Ronnie Sehume, Rufus Khoza -were later joined by Miriam Makeba. It is in tributes like these that the spirits of our musical icons and history lives on.
