Heroes Marathon

Heroes Marathon was launched 16 years ago and is Athletics Transkei’s flagship event run from Mthatha Airport to Nelson Mandela Museum, Qunu. The route from the Mthatha Airport to Qunu emanates the last route of the early life of the Statesman.

This international event attracts dozens of foreign athletes, many coming from as far as Malawi, Mozambique, Kenya, Namibia, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The Heroes Marathon event will consist of three different races namely 5km, 10km‚ 21.1km and 42.km. R750 000 worth of prizes up for grabs.
